Create In Me A Clean Heart

"And the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9

When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of our lives, He changes us. He forgives us of our sins and He clothes us in His righteousness. We become right with God.

However, our full transformation won't take place on this earth. But, while we are here, we are to be allowing Him to continually change our thinking and our behavior so we are continually becoming more and more like Christ. We are changing our old ways for new ways that reflect HIs character.

We have to guard our hearts. We have a lifetime (that might be a few years or many based on how long we've lived), of habits and thoughts that need to be replaced; and as long as we remain on this earth we are continually exposed to those old ways.

Letting God change us, from the inside out, takes time. Don't get caught in the trap of comparing yourself and your journey through life with anyone else. Don't look at someone else an envy what they have or where they are, either spiritually or physically. We see the outside. We don't know each other's stories. We don't know what goes on in each other's minds. What's picture perfect on the outside can be totally opposite on the inside.

So, don't be jealous or envious of others. At the same time, don't look down on others. We are all created by God. We all have value and worth. We are all at different stages in our journeys. We've all had different circumstances and experiences in life that are part of where we are currently and who we are currently.

God sees each of us individually. God loves each of us individually. He gave His son so we could have a right relationship with Him. If you have a need or a desire, take it to Him. If you are struggling, talk to Him. If you are experiencing success, thank Him. Our lives can change in a heartbeat. He is the only one who sees us completely. He is the only one who knows the whole story, where we are now, where we've been and where we are going.

Spend time with God today. Let Him examine your heart. Then, let Him change what needs to be changed.

You can be free.  You are worth it!
